Game On: Use Self Storage for Home Gaming
This is an excellent year for gaming, so whether you have been playing for decades or just hopping back in the saddle, you must get the equipment you need to get the job done. So, what is the best way to create your home gaming setup? Hint: It does not necessarily involve buying expensive gaming equipment. Instead, consider how we can help you make the man cave or she shed of your dreams when you use self storage for home gaming.
Consider What You Will Play
You will need a quality setup if you want to game properly, but it might be wise to consider what you will play. Buying a huge Alienware laptop might not be the best choice if you only play small indie games like Animal Crossing, The Sims, and Stardew Valley. Your laptop likely will not need a huge amount of storage either. You might be able to get away with a mid-range laptop, mouse, and two monitors if you are feeling fancy. However, if you think you are going to go the AAA route and game extensively, you will need to either make your central processing unit (or CPU) or buy one. Of course, if you’re gaming on a console, you are going to need your PlayStation®, Xbox, Nintendo Switch™, or whatever other system you prefer. In that case, you might still need a nice gaming chair or space for your virtual reality (or VR) headset.
How Much Space Do You Need?
This is where more space will help you tremendously. The perfect solution for freeing up space is renting storage for gaming equipment. If you have older consoles and furniture, for whatever reason, you might not want to get rid of them. While this is understandable, you have to put it somewhere, or you just will not have as much room.Sure, you can put it in your closet or cabinet for nostalgia’s sake, but why not move the older consoles and games to your storage unit instead? If you are a serious game collector, this makes more sense because it keeps your things safe without taking up space that could be used by your gaming chair, headphones, or new standing desk.
What Should You Buy?
Once you know what you are going to play and how much space you will need, it is time to determine what you should buy. Now, if you have a gaming system, it is pretty clear. Buy the system of your choice, a nice gaming chair or desk, a mid-range headset, and a multiplayer subscription like Game Pass if you like to have fun with friends. That should be enough for most gamers. Many gamers might feel pressured into getting top-of-the-line products when they do not have to. Just get what is right for you. If you cannot make your gaming PC or outfit your current system with a bigger storage drive, make sure you check reviews online to determine what is best for your needs. If you just go to Best Buy and ask for a gaming PC, they are likely to sell you the most expensive one. This is fine if it is what you need, but do yourself a favor and narrow down your top three options, so they do not drain your finances unnecessarily.
