Friendly staff giving me a full rundown of how things work. The pricing is decent after taking the promotion (for me, complementary mover, as well a free lock, etc...). Facility is very clean and access time is very good even though this is not a 24/7 facility. Definitely a good option to consider.

I’ve moved twice in the past year and a half, and this place has truly been the silver lining throughout the process. The staff are always incredibly helpful, kind, and welcoming. Being able to get all the moving supplies I need locally is such a blessing. It means I don’t have to guess how many boxes or other supplies I’ll need before I even start packing. Their guidance and convenience have made each move so much less stressful. I genuinely cannot recommend this place highly enough.

I’m SO glad I found Mini U! With a gap between leases, I had to find somewhere to store my things for a few days, and I was stressed about how much money/work it would take to find an affordable unit AND pay for movers to help. The Mini U staff was very responsive and friendly from the start, especially Shirley! They offer so many great promotions and services, including a deal with a moving company where they cover 2 hours of your move. The facilities are clean, easy to access, and equipped with plenty of loading space and dollies. Mini U was an awesome option for my very short-term situation. I’ve already been mentioning them to people and would definitely recommend if you’re looking for storage in the area!

Henry and Kirsten were very knowledgeable, patient and friendly. The lease signing process was transparent and seamless. And they offered first time customers use of a rental truck or van.

I had to switch storage facilities unexpectedly with my belongings on the moving truck (see my review for SecureSpace in Arlington), and came back to Mini U Storage. I had previously rented with them and was impressed with their climate controlled, clean facility, so I thought it was my best option. Mini U saved the day! Within minutes, I had secured two large units (discounted for the first month), and our movers were able to unload us quickly using one of the several loading dock options. Mini-U also allows renters to use a courtesy van or truck for a very reasonable $20, and that definitely came in handy a few weeks later. Special shout-out to Kierston, who is a model for customer service and professionalism. She was extremely compassionate and calm during my stressful situation. She reached out when she noticed I hadn't locked my unit completely, and also when I was nearing the end of my rental term to make sure I didn't get overcharged. She's a nice, pleasant lady who cares about people and treats them well. I would definitely, definitely rent here again.

I had minimal expectations for a storage facility but I was very impressed with the layout, cleanliness, and features of the facility plus the office staff (Kirsten & Henry) were exceptionally kind, cheerful, and helpful!

My friend recommended this storage facility. It is clean, well-organized, and has climate control. Although the prices are slightly higher than some of the other storage facilities that I inquired about, the customer service is exceptional. Mrs Shirley's customer service can't be beat, she's fantastic! She answered all of my questions, and she's warm and friendly. I would give her 10 stars on that alone.

I’ve been renting a storage unit here for about a year and a half and I’ve had a great experience. The facility is kept very clean and the temperature is well maintained. The price only got raised once or twice in that timeframe which is exceptional. Alot of storage places raise the cost every couple months. I moved in when the neighborhood was under construction and I never had an issue getting in or out of the facility. The staff are also great. Super nice folks and always ready to assist. We moved out today and it was a very busy day for moving with at least four trucks in the loading dock area. Some of the movers were not as amenable or accommodating to other trucks but the staff got it sorted out so my movers could get some space at the loading dock. Great service. Highly recommend!

The staff at this location are top notch! Henry was our original contact and was professional, knowledgeable and gave us exemplary customer service to secure two units for our needs. Every staff member we became acquainted with during our moving process were personable and friendly with exceptional customer service skills. The facility is maintained well with ample carts and parking areas to unload. We feel confident that our stored items are in good hands at this location.

I managed to snag a unit at this location for a great deal (that was apparently a mistake on the Mini U website-- but the deal was honored anyway!). Kirsten and Henry were friendly, helpful, and patient with all my questions as a first-time unit renter. The facility is very new, clean, and accessible. The ramped loading dock is a huge plus in my book. The staff was always prompt to pick up the phone when I had silly questions. I would absolutely recommend this location not only for the facility, but for the great customer service!

One of the best storage places I've used in my many PCSs in the military. They have a large box truck or a van you can use for free upon renting your unit (there is a damage fee and a 50 dollar deposit, you get back) First month is free!

Newly renovated and clean. Good specials going on this month which is why I chose this storage place initially. It is also climate controlled and secure with controlled gate and cameras inside and out. It was easy to reserved a unit and sign up. I chose a 10x12’ on the 2nd floor for my needs. Process took about 20mins to view the unit and sign the paperwork. Kirsten was very helpful, friendly and informative. They have elevators, carts, dollies easily accessible. And a rental box truck if needed. There is still new construction ongoing around this location. I still recommend this place

Despite the construction of the condos next door…would 100% recommend!! I had a storage unit here for about 3 years during COVID. I originally selected the location for a short term storage during the pandemic. Since then they have completely renovated the storage facility. There is 24-hr surveillance and easily accessible. I have always felt safe and like my unit was secure and free of bugs/rodents. The climate controlled units made it comfortable for storage for my valuables, especially during times of extreme temperatures! They even moved my belongings during renovations and the movers did an amazing job to make sure everything was transitioned safely! I absolutely hate moving especially interstate moves, but was really impressed with the staff (Henri) who assisted me during my move out. He was kind, thorough, and was there for any questions I had. Thank you Henri for being so kind during a stressful time.

I've been renting a unit, since September 2020 with the previous owner's, now it's Mini-U-Storage, the one thing I love about this company is I can use my insurance instead of theirs, because I trust my belongings with All-State. As far as the facility goes, I think the improvements are good. Considering the space is more organized and cleaner; the staff is professional and helpful all the time. I'm glad the construction is allowing the main street to be open.

This is an excellent facility with excellent staff. Self storage facilities can be hot or miss. Many are years past their prime filled with mediocre staff, with "climate controlled" being a marketing phrase rather than a genuine feature. This Mini U location is excellent all around. 1. The staff: Jessica and Henry were accommodating, super friendly and helpful. Just top notch. 2. The facility itself is new, clean, secure, and climate controlled. Having rented at other "climate controlled" facilities where the interior temperature was barely different than the outside conditions, the pleasant temperature inside the building was more than just a surprise, it was quite shocking (in a positive way). 3. There are plenty of carts and dollies available near the loading areas. Anyone who has arrived at a self storage location only to find that all the carts are missing understand how important this is. 4. Free storage shelves. They provided one large storage for our unit free of charge. This alone saved us 100+ dollars. 5. The move-in van service is a nice touch, and the fact that one of their vehicles is a brand new Sprinter van is a differentiating factor. When it comes to a storage facility, I think what most people are looking for is a safe, climate controlled, convenient and easily assessable facility. This checks all those boxes. Throw in excellent staff and pricing that was below local competitors at the time of our rental and it was a no brainer.

I've had a storage space with Mini U since 2019. I had a great initial experience with this store - friendly and helpful and they saved me money on my monthly rate. They had to move my space when the first building was demolished but they were quick and careful when relocating me. Yesterday I went into the store to rent a second space. Henry was at the counter and made sure I was happy with my new space. Even though the counter was very busy, Henry took his time with me to explain the terms of the agreement He was knowledgeable and answered all my questions I highly recommend this location of Mini U -- stellar service and safe spaces

I was dreading the drive to home depot so I looked for place close to my area for moving boxes and found this place across the street from me. The staff who helped me was so polite, professional, and also took the moving boxes I bought to my car so I wouldn't have to carry it. Their boxes are def good quality and I have to say I got a better pricing/deal than what I would have paid at Home Depot for high quality moving boxes. They also have tapes and other supplies. Def going back for more boxes.

I have been a renter at this location for 30 years thru a couple of ownership changes. This new one (miniustorage) seems at least as good as the others I've experienced. They seem to be improving the facilities as well. No complaints to speak of & generally competent service.

The facility is clean and very accessible. With a $5 million renovation in the works, it’s only going to get better. Tyrone and Shaquana are friendly and efficient, and they epitomize good customer service. Rent is affordable, and the lease terms are agreeable. I’m confident I made the right choice with Mini U Storage.

The staff was super helpful on move in day. They walked me through all the details of my storage unit. I also used the truck rental, which, if you are able to reserve, is a great perk for using this facility. The bays and elevators were easy to use and the access to the unit is great.

The gents working here were extremely helpful. I was only buying boxes for a move, but if you live in Crystal City/ Pentagon City/ etc. and need boxes or tape it will save you at least 30 mins sitting in traffic to just buy your packing supplies here. Also, the boxes were not cheap but were signifigantly better than the other boxes I bought. Ended up putting everything I really cared about in the boxes I bought here and at the end of the move I am glad I did. Thanks guys

I was in the market for a convenient, but more importantly, affordable storage unit. I came across self storage plus in my search and it suited my needs. But, what really impressed me, was the customer service... specifically the general manager, Bobby Dudley. Bobby is genuinely a good person, and it shows through his customer service and how he treats and talks to you. He took the time to show me around the facility. Bobby broke down pricing and benefits of each unit I was interested in. Once I finally picked a unit, we identified an issue with latch and door frame. He made sure that issue was taken care of by the time I used the storage on my set date. I had another issue on the my first day of use of the storage and he took care of it right then and there. I had a unit for 7 years here that I closed today. It's reasonably priced in a great location, easy to access, clean, and the staff are wonderful. Customer service is excellent. I could not have asked for a better experience and the manager who closed me out was impeccably polite, concise, prompt, and helpful. He made me feel welcome back any time, no guilt for closing out, wished me the best. Everyone always greets with a friendly smile and makes your time feel like a priority. I didn't know I could have such positively strong feelings about a storage unit but here we are - I will actually miss it.

Although the rates steadily went up as the years went by, the customer service was great, I never had any actual issues with the facilities or billing, and there was no issue with me randomly closing my unit the day before the end of the month. Will definitely consider in the future.

When I rented the unit, the staff kindly showed me the multiple options available and helped me determine the best storage unit for me. I kept my belongings in a storage unit at Self Storage Plus for approximately 6 months, and I felt confident during this time that my belongings were safe and secure. The move-out process from Self Storage Plus in Alexandria was very smooth. I had an interior third floor unit, and the elevators worked well, and Self Storage Plus provided dollies that allowed me to easily move my belongings. I am very thankful to Self Storage Plus for a wonderful experience with a storage unit (my first time renting a storage unit) and will be back to Self Storage Plus in Alexandria if I am again away from the DMV area in the future for an extended period of time. Recently my unit here had to be moved because the building was going to be demolished. This could well have been annoying, but the company gave me a new unit in a nicer building, comped a month, and hired movers so that it was as painless as possible. The staff is uniformly helpful and professional, and I'm happy to be a customer.

Does it look a bit rough on the outside...yes. But the price and location can’t be beat and I think my stuff will be safe and secure. Also Bobby the GM was great and got me setup quickly.

I would like to convey to you my private impressions of the excellent service I received from manager Bobby Dudley supported by assistant manager Dezaree Lipscomb at the Self Storage Plus Potomac Yards facility. In November I received an E mail from Bobby informing me that it was necessary to move the contents of my storage locker to another building on the same site. In my response, I explained that I was living in the United Kingdom and was unable to travel to Washington to be on hand to oversee the move. In his reply he kindly offered to facilitate the arrangements with a local moving company. I called him again to discuss the details and found his response to my questions to be precise and reassuring. The management of the whole process including the administrative aspects was very professional. I was kept fully informed before the move and on the day of the move by e mail and during my phone call to him. Had a good experience finding this place and setting up my storage unit - it was easy, fast, and efficient. Bobby was very knowledgeable, friendly, and an overall great resource.

I had an incredible experience w/Self Storage Plus, Bobby D. was so easy to deal with. Bobby has a very calming, easy going demeanor about him so he made a stressful situation a lot less stressful. He is so very knowledgeable & overall just a kind person to work with . My sister had a lock she wanted to use , the lock was too big, Bobby offered to make a modification so we could use the lock, we declined and purchased a lock from the facility because that would have been too much work, but we were so grateful that he offered. This has been a win - win situation for us working w/ Bobby & Self Storage Plus. Bobby did not provide good customer service, he gave us excellent Customer Care, Thank you!!

Had an excellent experience thanks to the branch manager, Bobby! He was patient and helpful with finding the best unit for me. I ended up coming back a 2nd time because I decided I needed the next bigger size up unit. Bobby was again super helpful and switched it right out for me. He made my experience so convenient. Bobby is such a great manager of this location. They are always so prompt responding to replies and were flexible in finding solutions. Bobby especially is so professional and I feel so comfortable storing my car here. It’s also so convenient to DC and surrounding areas.

Asst. Mgr. Bobby was professional, helpful, and efficient from start to finish. He personally followed up by phone when I booked online. He took me to see the proposed unit to be sure that it was to my satisfaction before we sealed the deal. He has followed up via email to ensure that all is well. The location is excellent for us. I am impressed by the multiple security features, 24/7 accessibility, multiple loading bays, plenty of carts/dollies for use, lighting on timers. The company also offered a 1st-month free special and additional discount for the first several months. Thank you!

He also made me feel as though security is taken very seriously and not just anyone could get access. Plus he is very kind and personable! I had a storage unit here for many years and always felt like my account was handled professionally and I was kept up-to-date on its status. Also closing out my account was a breeze! Very professional and informative. The Assistant Manager Bobby was awesome! We explained our needs and he was able to help us in making an informed most economical decision for our situation. Timing is everything for the size unit needed. Also, I recommend reserving online then going to see the unit and Bobby's friendly face and positive attitude.

This review is a bit late. I used SSP in late March. When everything was closed, they were open and helpful in getting me the supplies I needed for a cross country move. Pleasant, helpful with suggestions, and fair pricing. Would use them again if I still lived in the area.

The facility is very conveniently located and easily accessible; it's not inexpensive, but competitively priced for the area. What sets it apart is the truly exceptional staff: unfailingly courteous, patient, helpful in addressing/solving any questions with usage of the facility, accounts, etc.

Josh the GM at this site was awesome in helping me get a larger Unit from my smaller one. Process was fluid and without hiccup .

Highly recommend! The company was very responsive, professional, and friendly. We secured our space within 24 hours of reserving it - amazing coordination. Once we arrived at our space, there were no issues and it was clean. Could not ask for a better experience.
